In Russia, They Proposed to Introduce a New Holiday – Day of the Capture of Paris

Deputies from the LDPR submitted for consideration a bill on the introduction of a new holiday in Russia – the Day of the Capture of Paris on March 31. The holiday is associated with the capture of Paris during the war of 1812-1814.

“Submitted for consideration <…> March 31 — the day of the capture of Paris and the victorious end of the Patriotic War of 1812 and the foreign campaigns of the Russian army of 1813-1814,” the text of the document says, it was published in electronic database of bills of the State Duma. Its authors were a group of deputies from the Liberal Democratic Party.
